What Type of Skin Do You Have?
There are 5 different skin types. Take this quiz to find out which is your type.
Normal skin has a good balance of moisture, small pores, and an even tone. It's still important to minimize sun exposure, even with this skin type.
Combination skin consists of two skin types. typically with this skin type, some areas of the face such as the cheeks are dry, while others such as the nose and chin (known as the T-zone) tend to have oilier and more blemished skin.
Dry skin produces less sebum (healthy oily secretion) than normal skin. As a result, dry skin lacks what it needs to retain moisture and build a protective shield. The best remedies include limiting bath time, bathing in hot water, applying moisturizer right after bath, and using a humidifier.
Oily skin consists of excess oil on the face, which produces a shiny or greasy appearance. Blackheads, pimples and other types of acne are also common with this skin type. For best care, wash face no more than twice a day, use "noncomedogenic" (non pour clogging)skin care products, and avoid face scrubs - use a gentle cleanser.
Sensitive skin is skin that prone to inflammation. This may include acne, rosacea or contact dermatitis, a type of red, itchy rash. People with sensitive skin should avoid friction, excessive heat, and triggers like alcohol or stress.
