Here are some signs that you may be suffering from symptoms of depression. This is not, in any way, medical advice, Instead, it’s a guide to help you identify the symptoms of depression. • Feeling withdrawn
• Excessive or inappropriate guilt
• Irresponsible behavior
• Memory loss
• Preoccupation with death and dying
• Rebellious behavior
• Sadness, anxiety, or a feeling of hopelessness
• Complaints of pains, including headaches, stomachaches, low back pain, or fatigue
• Difficulty concentrating
• Difficulty making decisions
• Loss of interest in food or compulsive overeating that results in rapid weight loss or gain
• Staying awake at night and sleeping during the day
• Use of alcohol or drugs and promiscuous sexual activity
• Withdrawal from friends and family
• Forgetting obligations, being late for classes, skipping school
• Sudden drop in grades
If you scored 6 to 10 points, you could be depressed. Reach out and talk to your parents. Hang out with friends who make you laugh. If you can’t seem to shake off the depression, especially when you’re alone, talk to a doctor.
If you scored 11 and above, you’re most likely suffering from depression. That doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world for you. There are a lot of ways to treat depression.

There are also professionals who are willing to help. You can in fact reach-out to them directly. An excellent counselor will be able to help you become happier and take control of your life.
Take that first step. Reach out to someone. You will be surprised that a lot of people will be willing to help: family, friends, teachers, or health professionals.
