Have your say about Matt Canavan and Australia's future
Senator Matt Canavan has finally been elected as leader of the Nationals
The LNP senate preselection has been brought forward more than 12 months so that it will be held under the old delegate rules which favor Senator McGrath
The delegate rules will be changed in July so that every member of the Queensland party will be able to vote for the senators, not just 300 handpicked delegates
Senator Canavan has only until the 28th of March to decide whether he should run for the senate or abandon that and hope to find a lower house seat
Current polling suggests the LNP will only win 1 senate seat at the next election

If this preselection proceeds under the old rules Matt Canavan cannot lead the ticket and can only be second and likely won't be elected
