You feel things deeply. More deeply than most people around you probably realize. You absorb the emotional weight of situations, relationships, and people without always meaning to. And you have been doing it for so long that it just feels like who you are.
It is not who you are. It is what your body has been asked to hold.
Grief and sadness that do not move get stored. This is the Water element, and it lives in your sacral centre, just below your navel, the seat of your emotional flow and creative life force. When water stagnates it does not disappear. It settles into your lower back, your lungs, your reproductive system. It shows up as a fatigue that sleep does not fix, a heaviness in your chest, a sadness that arrives without a clear reason.
You are not broken and you are not too sensitive. You are full. There is a difference. Fog does not mean the sun is gone. It means something needs to move.
What this looks like in your body
A persistent heaviness in your chest or lower belly, like something is pressing down or sitting undigested
Lower back ache or hip tightness that has no clear physical cause
Shallow breathing you do not notice until someone points it out, or a habit of sighing that arrives when you are around people who are struggling
What shifts this
Long slow exhales, longer than your inhale. This is breathwork at its most basic and most powerful. The exhale is the release. Do it consciously, daily, even for two minutes.
Conscious shaking or swaying with sound, humming or toning. The sacral centre responds to rhythm and vibration. Five minutes of this moves more than an hour of thinking about it.

You are the one who holds it together. Steady, capable, reliable. People count on you and you show up. Every time.
What has quietly gone missing is joy. Not the performed version. Not gratitude-listed happiness. The real animal pleasure of being fully in your body and alive to your own life.
Your upper energy centers, the third eye between your brows and the crown at the top of your head, are where perception, consciousness, and your connection to something larger than the daily grind live. In a body that has been in protection mode for a long time these centers become overloaded. Your nervous system, your pineal gland, your entire endocrine system stay on alert. The signal to rest, to receive, to simply enjoy being alive gets drowned out by the signal to manage, monitor, and maintain.
Joy is not a reward for when everything is handled. For your nervous system, it is medicine. The storm never comes when the air is finally allowed to move.
What this looks like in your body
Going through the motions, a flatness underneath the competence that you do not always have words for
Difficulty feeling genuine pleasure or excitement even for things you used to love
Disrupted sleep, hormonal shifts, or a low hum of vigilance that never fully switches off even when everything is fine
What shifts this
One thing per week that has zero purpose except that you enjoy it. Not self-care as productivity. Pleasure for pleasure's sake. Your nervous system needs actual evidence that this is allowed.
Drop your awareness into your body deliberately. Feel the temperature of the air, the weight of your feet, the texture of what you are touching. This brings energy down from the overloaded upper centres and back into your felt sense.

You have a fire in you. A strong sense of how things should go, a low tolerance for injustice, and a very real physical response when things do not move the way they should. You see what is wrong before most people do. And you have probably spent years managing, softening, or apologizing for the intensity of that.
Stop apologizing for it.
Anger lives in your solar plexus, that space between your navel and your ribcage, your centre of will, agency, and personal power. It also lives in your liver on your right side and your gallbladder just beneath it. The liver holds unexpressed vision and frustration. The gallbladder holds the decisions you have not made yet, the things you have been swallowing. When this centre is chronically suppressed the fire does not go out. It turns inward.
Your anger is not the problem. Unexpressed anger is the problem. Lightning that cannot discharge turns inward. It is your body telling you something important has not been addressed.
What this looks like in your body
Tension under your right ribcage, jaw clenching, or headaches that arrive when something feels blocked or unfair
Digestive flare-ups, skin reactions, or a feeling of heat and pressure building in your upper body when you cannot act on what you feel
A short fuse that surprises even you, followed by guilt, the cycle of suppressing then erupting then suppressing again
What shifts this
Move the anger through your body before you try to think your way through it. Shake, stomp, push against a wall, do vigorous breathwork. The liver needs the body to move this, not the mind to manage it.
Get underneath the anger to what is actually there. Anger is almost always a secondary emotion. The hurt, the boundary crossed, the unmet need beneath the fire is what actually needs to be addressed.
Make the decision you have been avoiding. The gallbladder holds indecision. Whatever you have been sitting on, your body already knows the answer. Trust it.

Your nervous system is braced. Not dramatically, not in crisis, just never fully off. You plan, you prepare, you anticipate. You are excellent at thinking three steps ahead. And underneath all of that is a body that has not felt completely safe in a long time.
Fear is an earth element emotion and it lives at the base of your spine in your root centre, the foundation of your entire energy system. It also lives in your adrenal glands, your kidneys, your legs and bones, the parts of your body literally designed to keep you upright and moving. When your root is chronically activated your adrenals stay on. Your legs feel restless or heavy. Your body cannot find the signal that says the ground is solid and you are okay.
This is not a character flaw and it is not just anxiety. Cold wind is relentless only when there is nothing to break it. Your nervous system can learn what shelter feels like.
What this looks like in your body
Lower back tightness, restless legs, or a low-level stomach unease that arrives without obvious cause
Waking at 3am with a mind running scenarios, or taking a long time to fall asleep because the body will not settle
A constant background hum of alertness that you have normalised as just how you are, but your body is exhausted from the vigilance
What shifts this
Grounding practices, daily and non-negotiable. Barefoot on earth, legs up the wall, slow deliberate walking. These send a direct signal to your root centre and your adrenal glands that the ground is there and it is holding you.
Extended exhale breathing before any decision. Your nervous system makes fear-based choices when it is activated. Four counts in, six counts out. Do this before anything important.
Speak the fear out loud, to yourself or to someone safe. Fear stored silently calcifies. Fear named begins to metabolise. This is not about venting. It is nervous system breathwork.

You love deeply. You show up for people. You remember the details, you check in, you hold space. You are probably the person in your circle that others come to when things fall apart.
And you are running on empty.
Love is an air element emotion and it lives in your heart centre, the middle of your chest. But for you the pattern does not stop there. It moves up to your throat, your thyroid, your vocal system, the place where what you feel is supposed to become what you say. For the Nurturer these two centres are often disconnected. You feel everything in your heart and then somewhere between feeling it and speaking it, something stops you. The edit happens so fast you barely notice it anymore.
The problem is not that you love too much. Warm rain that only ever falls for others eventually runs dry. Your heart and throat are both exhausted from the silence.
What this looks like in your body
Chest tightness, throat tension, or a lump that arrives when you need to say something important
Thyroid irregularities, neck and shoulder holding, or shallow breathing that gets worse when you feel unseen
A persistent longing even when you are surrounded by people who love you, because love received and love expressed are two different things
What shifts this
Complete this sentence out loud every day: "What I actually need right now is..." Even just to yourself in the car. Your throat needs repetition to open. Start private, start small.
Heart coherence breathing, five seconds in, five seconds out, one hand on your chest. This is not soft advice. It is HeartMath science. It shifts your heart rhythm and your nervous system within minutes.
