How well do you know Extreme Ghostbusters?
Have you paid close attention to the show itself? And to my website? The answers to a few questions can be found on here somewhere... but of course, you would never cheat!
Who is the first entity trapped by the Extreme Ghostbusters?
No tricks here! Achira is the only entity the Extreme Ghostbusters deal with in their debut, 'Darkness at Noon', and they successfully trap her in the closing stages of Part 2.
According to the episode 'Fear Itself', what is Kylie's phobia?
Eduardo suggests that Kylie's fear of maggots is symbolic of a fear of death. Kylie refutes this claim in no uncertain terms. Maggots creep her out, okay? Eduardo actually is afraid of death while the owner of the nightclub premises, Mr Swank, introduces us to the premise of the episode with his fear of heights.
What does the demon Tenebrach take from you if you see the Orb of Moldova?
Tenebrach appears in 'The Unseen' and, well, takes your eyes if you see the Orb of Moldova. Gu-Mo from 'Eyes of a Dragon' takes bones. The electricity-sucking demons in 'Mole People' also suck souls. The water-inhabiting demon in 'Dry Spell' absorbs bodily fluids as a by-product of your life essence.
What is the name of Eduardo's nephew?
We meet Kevin Rivera in 'Rage', along with his parents, Carl (or Carlos) and Beth. I don't want to explain the other three options just yet...
Which ghost is in the containment unit as a direct result of the events of an RGB episode?
RGB fans will remember the episode 'The Grundel', and EGB fans will remember the reference to this in 'Grundelesque'. According to Egon in 'Slimer's Sacrifice', Surt was trapped by the original Ghostbusters, but this was not shown in an RGB episode.
What colour is Roland's car?
Green and blue can sometimes be subjective. Roland's Mustang, however, is surely blue enough to avoid that grey - er, that is - aquamarine area.
Which Extreme Ghostbuster never has a blood relative appear on screen?
Eduardo has his brother and nephew, Carl and Kevin, as mentioned in Question 4. Roland also has a brother, the young and mischievous Casey, who appears in 'Grundelesque' (and was given in Question 4 as an incorrect option). If you don't count Achira's disguise, Kylie's late (great-)Grandma Rose, appears in photographs in 'Darkness at Noon, Part 1' and 'Be Careful What You Wish For', and again in the latter as a visual memory in Duophanes's wishing suitcase. As a little extra trivia point, Garrett, as well as having no family appear in the show, is also the only Extreme Ghostbuster whose home we never get to visit.
In the episode 'The Luck of Irish', what placebo does Egon give to Garrett?
Janine knows that it's a placebo Egon has given Garrett to remove his 'bad luck jinx' from which the Leprachaun. Raspberry soda is her guess, to which Egon replies, 'Grape.'
In the episode 'Til Death Do Us Start', what is the surname of the Ghostbusters' client Leonard?
Leonard's surname is used by himself, Egon and potential sketch show character 'tactless mover'. It's definitely Bates.
In the episode 'In Your Dreams', who dreams about being naked in public?
Egon has the dream, but it doesn't seem to worry him, as he realises that he's dreaming as soon as Morpheus points out his nakedness. In 'Fear Itself', Garrett says to Eduardo, 'I see you as a fear-of-being-naked-in-public kind of guy.' As we know, this proves to be incorrect.
In the episode 'The True Face of a Monster', what is the name of Garrett's old friend from Brooklyn Heights?
Spence introduces Trey and Charlie to Garrett in this episode; all three, it turns out, wear 'the true face of a monster' and Spence is no longer Garrett's friend by the end of the episode. Chip is the name of the football stud in 'Witchy Woman'.
In the episode 'Witchy Woman', who was NOT in Wanda's circle?
Wanda, Celine and Bess form the witchy trio whom we meet at the beginning of the episode. Towards the end, they trick Eduardo into completing their circle. Tina is the original trio's first victim (and girlfriend of Chip from the previous question).
What is the real name of 'Moby Ghost'?
Lotan and Macrob's parallels with Moby Dick and Captain Ahab are only explicitly mentioned in the title of the episode. Luko is the techno-demon who makes Roland build 'The Infernal Machine' in the episode of the same name. Kuja is the benevolent forest demon that Kylie chooses to believe is responsible for the trouble in 'Seeds of Destruction'; in fact, it turns out to be the malavolent Shanbahac.
In the episode 'Deadliners', what adjective does J.N. Kline use to describe Garrett in his new book?
At the end of the episode, Garrett resentfully reads out Kline's description of him: 'the loud-mouth guy in the wheelchair'. It parodies and contrasts how he earlier described himself in his own story, as quoted by Eduardo: 'the handsome guy in the wheelchair'.
Who is the only original Ghostbuster never to be referenced independently of the others?
In 'Casting the Runes', Egon concludes Roland's explanation of what they're planning for Kahlil's messenger demon as follows: 'And then, as Venkman used to say, we zap him and trap him.' In 'The Sphinx', when Egon is feeling particularly frazzled (he's now stuck in a lift, on top of being frustrated by getting old) he calls Garrett 'Ray' in a fit of anger. Outside 'Back in the Saddle', Winston is only mentioned as one of the four who trapped the Grundel: 'Peter, Ray, Winston and I...' You don't need me to explain about Egon.
Watching the series in airing order, which Extreme Ghostbuster's name do we learn first?
'Darkness at Noon, Part 1':
Kylie: So why are you taking this class, Mr Half-a-Brain-Call?
Eduardo: The name's Eduardo. And I'm taking it because it's what's known as an Easy A.
LATER THAT SCENE:
Eduardo: I'll tell you one thing, babe: this is no Easy A.
Kylie: The name's Kylie.
THE FOLLOWING SCENE:
Janine: Don't mind him, Roland, you're very conscientious behind the wheel.
'The True Face of a Monster' i.e. TWO EPISODES LATER:
Spence: Guys, meet Garrett.
In how many episodes is the term 'Extreme Ghostbuster(s)' said out loud?
In 'Fear Itself', Garrett answers the phone with the phrase, 'Extreme Ghosbusters - we ain't afraid o' no ghost.' In 'Ghost Apocalyptic Future', Eduardo rubs salt into the wound of Garrett's erasure from history by saying, 'Uh-oh! Somebody didn't make the Extreme Ghostbuster Hall of Fame!'
In the episode 'Ghost in the Machine', whose driving test is hijacked by the Ghostbusters?
Kylie asks Jeremy his name as part of trying to appear as one of three driving examiners when she, Roland and Garrett all pile into his car in order to follow their own, possessed vehicle. They then abandon Jeremy in his car with no licence and no qualified driver to help him out.
Frankie and Len, who appear in 'Home Is Where the Horror Is', attend which school?
Frankie mentions the name PS52, when explaining to the ghost-house-old-lady that he and his brother are selling candy to raise money for 'new computer equipment for our school'. We also see the name written on the chocolate bar later discovered in the house by Eduardo.
Which Extreme Ghostbuster is the only one whose full name can be seen written down on screen?
While all the Ghostbusters' first and surnames can be heard on occasion, most memorably in 'Grease' and 'Ghost Apocalyptic Future', even first names are almost never seen written down. In 'Be Careful What You Wish For', Eduardo in Pagan's body spells out his first name in Scrabble letters. Only Garrett's name appears in full, on the business card he hands Agent Stone in 'Grease' (along with the phrase 'Extreme Ghostbusters', as an addendum to the information accompanying Question 17).
