What is this fracture called?
Jones fractures are within 2cm of the 5th metatarsal tip and have a high non union rate. They require non weight bearing and orthopaedic referral.
What injury does this xray show?
It is a stress fracture from a repetitive injury like marching.
What causes this base of 5th metatarsal fracture?
This avulsion fracture is very common and caused by inversion of the foot. Patients can be treated with a weight bearing boot (eg CAM boot).

The injury tends to occur with axial loading to a dorsi flexed foot. There is a classification (Hawkins) which gives a 1 to 4 grading. Always be concerned about the chance of avascular necrosis and even a non displaced fracture with require orthopaedic review. CT these injuries.

What is this angle called?
A normal Bohlers angle is 20 to 40 degrees. If it is < 20 degrees there is invariably an intraarticular calcaneal fracture.
This man was in a motor vehicle accident. What injury of the forefoot do you suspect?
The injury is caused generally by a downward axial force on a flexed foot. The whole forefoot is usually swollen and bruising extends onto the sole of the foot.
What does this show?
So there is an intra articular fracture of the calcaneous.
The video shows relocation of a dislocated toe. What analgesia would you use for this manouvre?
You could consider Methoxyflourane as it is a pretty quick relocation. However if I get one feel free to give me a digital nerve block.
