Bad news: a deposit of 25 cents is an almost sure sign that your bottle will not be reused. At least it is probably made of polyethylenterephthalat (PET) - so it's easy to recycle and may become another bottle.
Your shampoo bottle was most likely made of polyethylene (PE). Most PE is downcycled - if it is recycled at all. That means that it ends up as inferior products - plastic foil, garbage bags, cable insulation.
Actually, all of those are microplastics used in cosmetics! And so are maaaany more ingredients.

The average inhabitant of Germany produced 76 kg of plastic waste in 2021! Over 37 kg of that was just for packaging.
In 2008, Rwanda passed its first law banning the manufacture, import, use, and sale of polyethylene bags. Since 2019, the country is trying to phase out the use of all single-use plastic. It seems that after all, change is possible!
