Generally considered to be the process of change and displacement that occurs as wealthier people move into a neighborhood, raising the prices of property and goods, and changing the overall culture of a community. Gentrification can occur rapidly and can have serious consequences for the original residents of an area, but it can also produce positive outcomes.
