Which slightly-too-active student is your spirit animal?
Ps. Next to this quiz, our election programme can of course also help you to decide on your vote!
Your asap-soulmate is Jasper van Ulsen. And with him you get a twin-soulmate for free, after hearing the amazing stories of his brother Xander (who was in the USR in 2018-2019) Jasper was ready for a seat in the Student Council, lucky us! Critical, cheerful (except in the morning), committed (but not too committed), determined but also willing to change his mind if the arguments are good. The idealistic son-in-law.
Furthermore...
- We’ve heard from reputable sources that hij know Feuten by heart, along with tens of others Netflix series.
- He has a difficult relationship with red peppers, who won’t be swiped right or up on Tinder.
If you vote for Jasper, you know you’ve made a good decision and that he will do everything within his power to make our campus a better place for you.

Your asap-soulmate is Jesse Dekker: This spontaneous and ambitious law student is ready 24/7 for whoever needs him. With years of experience in student participation, he’s the perfect candidate to represent you in the student council.
Besides working hard, he enjoys…
- a drink every now and then
- a shopping spree in town
- an evening in with Netflix.
Sometimes all three at the same time, what a guy. His ultimate guilty pleasure? K3 songs, all day every day.
If you vote for Jesse, there is a high chance that he will get into the Student Council, where he wants to push for more sustainable policies. It’s important to him that the university keeps thinking about the future of its students ánd the world, and he wants to see this become a fixed point on the university’s agenda.

Your asap-soulmate is Joris Schröder. This student of English language and culture isn’t simply ‘a little bit too active’ but almost ‘ridiculously’ active. You might know him from his board year with the study association for English, his years in the Faculty Student Council or Program Committee, his work for the Jonge Democraten or as producer for his theatre group. If you haven’t pierced the active-student-bubble yet this is the perfect moment to get to know him.
In his free time (which he has apparently, perhaps he stole the time-turner from Harry Potter) he loves…
- cooking
- gaming
- his bunny Barry.
If you vote for Joris, he will commit full force to the betterment of the university.
Do you wanna know more about Joris? Read his iintroduction here. You can also find our election programme on our website.

Your asap-soulmate is Rick Spierings. This merry history student loves company, especially a good conversation with a glass of wine and a charcuterie or cheeseboard. He is passionate and gives 110% for what he believes in.
Some insider information: his guilty pleasure is nonsensical tv-drama. Grey’s anatomy and Keeping up with the Kardashians are the ultimate delight.
If you vote for Rick, you’re guaranteed that he will be passionately and fully committed to the Student Council. One of asap’s key points which he is dedicated to is student wellbeing: which he, like the rest of asap, views as a requirement for academic success and self-development.
Do you wanna know more about Rick? Read his introduction here. You can also find our election programme on our website.

Your asap-soulmate is Melanie. Summed up in one sentence: An enthusiastic spark plug, alive with energy and with enough conversation for ten. Melanie is self-aware which the current slowing down of normal life added to. She’s more aware of the things she’s putting time in and the things and people who give her energy. Luckily asap seems to be one of those things ;)
She has lots of great memories with tequila. Tequila not as many of her, just like café “Next level”. She’s mainly proud of the fact that she and her board drank so much tequila that they left the bar without lemons for two weeks. Yeah, try to beat that.
If you vote for Melanie you’ll be giving her a chance to enter the Student Council. With her being #5 this is difficult, but not impossible! Furthermore you’ll be giving your vote to someone who knows that they stand for, but also isn’t afraid for an evening of tequila in town.
Do you wanna know more about Melanie? Read her introduction here. You can also find our election programme on our website.

Your asap-soulmate is Baukje van Iersel. This future dentist loves:
- gezelligheid
- having a few beers
- (winning) boards games
- her plants
- teeth
- sleeping in
- making soup with her immersion blender
- talking until the sun comes up
… and everything deep fried. You would almost think she’s sponsored by the FEBO but it’s the other way round.
She’s spontaneous, open-minded and enthusiastic. During this crisis she mainly misses her friends, going out, drilling teeth (not creepy at all) and drinking coffee with her grandma on saturday.
If you vote for Baukje, you’ll be voting for someone who is determined to create a lively campus, where you can study, but definitely also relax. With her friendly smile she’s able to wrap everyone around her finger, but she gets things done due to her very serious work ethic. A great representative!
Do you wanna know more about Baukje? Read her introduction here. You can also find our election programme on our website.

Your asap-soulmate is Thom. If you ever play hide and seek with him or simply lose him, you can probably find him in the Grotius building (a born law student). Otherwise check the city or his friends to find him.
In short:
- He is a party starter
- He is determined
- He is the ideal son-in-law.
On top of that he has what it take to represent you in student participation. He knows what he wants, both now and for the future, and he doesn’t need a crystal ball to make sure that happens. One of the points from asap that he wants to represent is more room for extra-curricular activities: He wants the university to offer more options and be more flexible.
If you vote for Thom, you’ll be voting for someone who, with a Baco in one hand, can have fun in Bar 2 for hours. But you’ll also be voting for someone who sticks to his beliefs and knows how to convince others.
Do you wanna know more about Thom? Read his introduction here. You can also find our election programme on our website.

Your asap-soulmate is Fenna Kerkhof. Fenna is, as long as she’s sober, in charge as the mum of the group. After a few glasses of wine she’s glad to pass the power to someone else and join the group itself. When not out in town Fenna is still a social butterfly, who is always darting from appointment to appointment.
Those who say A, have to say B. Those who say Fenna, have to say, someone who sings along, at the top of her lungs, to ABBA in the shower. And that beautiful ‘English’ quote you came across in the quiz was hers too. Not only does she turn into a 4 year old when drunk, she becomes a true poet who says to a taxi driver: “That’s too duur, I take the benenwagen”.
If you vote for Fenna, you do not only vote for someone who is incredibly kind and fun, but also someone knows where we should be headed and why. She experienced first hand how valuable being an active student can be, and she wants everyone to have that opportunity. Being a student is about more than studying and the university should support students in this.
Do you wanna know more about Fenna? Read her introduction here. You can also find our election programme on our website.

Your asap-soulmate is Julie van Immerseel. Julie is a busy bee, and she just happens to be a board member of BeeVee. What a coincidence. Her friends describe her as the embodiment of the active student in 2020. She is …
- a real go-getter
- proud of her love of pineapple pizza and ice cold beers (her favourite is Mort Subite Witte Lambic)
- and secretly enjoys a night of reality tv.
Quarantaine or no quarantine: Julie still has a fully booked calendar. It shouldn’t surprise you that within asap, the party for active students, Julie wants to focus all her energy and enthusiasm on… active students! We love it. According to her the university should allow more room for being an active student, because personal development is critical.
If you vote for Julie, you’re certain that the university will be hearing your voice. Or well, hers, representing yours. Whether they want to or not, Active Student Julie (capital letters indeed) will, through her enthusiasm and determination, máke them listen.
Do you wanna know more about Julie? Read her introduction here. You can also find our election programme on our website.

Your asap-soulmate is maarten Cornelissen. From the second he could walk he’s started running. He has committed himself hardcore to his studies, societies and bike, but he also isn’t afraid of blowing off some steam. Maarten goes full speed ahead to achieve his goals, no brakes. But don’t be afraid, he’s pretty reasonable. He is…
- a friend you can always rely on to give good advice or have a fun discussion with.
- ambitious and analytical
- adamant and loves to talk.
Maarten fits perfectly into asap, because he’s also committed to the active student. According to him your time as a student is the right moment for personal development, and the university should support students by offering them as much opportunities as possible, without obligation, with plenty of choice. If you vote for Maarten, you’re voting for someone who is not afraid to stick to his beliefs.
Do you wanna know more about Maarten? Read his introduction here. You can also find our election programme on our website.

Your asap-soulmate is Gina Advena, This ‘under-cover German lady' (you cannot tell from her accent) is described as friendly, warm and loyal by friend and foe. Rumor has it that Marry Poppins learned her bag tricks from Gina: Gina always conjures everything you need out of her bag.
As an international student her mission is, among other things, to make the voice of the international student heard more in the lively city of Nijmegen.
She is organized, she loves to organize, and runs around all day: A sports session at the RSC is no longer necessary. If you have ever run into her, you probably heard her before seeing her: she likes to sing and usually doesn’t even notice it herself.
If you vote for Gina you can be sure that she will speak up. She believes that extra-curricular activities are a great addition to a person’s life and development, and that the university should therefore facilitate this as much as possible.
Do you wanna know more about Gina? Read her introduction here. You can also find our election programme on our website.

Your asap-soulmate is Alexander Currie. If the active-student-community was a bar, he would definitely be a regular: he’s actief at Phocas, has done a board year for the Batavierenrace, as well as the RAGweek, and of makes photos for boards or during activities.
Alex thinks it is important that students find out where their interests lie during their student years and can develop themselves broadly, both in the study field as on a personal level.
If you cannot find him at the Medical Faculteit, or the UB, and he has some spare time, you will probably find him with that damned photo camera in hand, behind a piano or a guitar (often to the annoyance of his roommate, or occasionally his parents during the weekends, ear plugs can work miracles) or very sporadically in a rowing boar, apparently last on February 31th.
If you vote for Alex, you are voting for someone who knows the university inside out, so he is perfect for representing the interests of students!
Do you wanna know more about Alex? Read his introduction here. You can also find our election programme on our website.

Your asap-soulmate is Veerle Miltenburg. Veerle is a spontaneous, happy and social girl. She has feelers out in all branches of the student community, and shares there happy feeling as often as possible: she is a board member of the non-profit organization AIESEC, also a member of Carolus Magnus and a proud member of sorority Nausikaä.
She can put things in perspective like nobody else can and therefore immediately weigh up difficult decisions. Friends describe her as a very open person, who gets along with many different types of people. This makes her the perfect person to represent your interests on the student council!
If you vote for Veerle, you vote for someone that wants work for more flexibility in education, so that it becomes easier to be active next to your studies.
Some more trivia:
- Veerle has the pizza shop on speed dial instead of 112
- She can often be found in Café Faber with a beer in company of her sorority.
- She cannot communicate and be on her phone on the same time (“huh girls can multitask, right?” Right, but it’s just really really hard, oké? Leave that girl alone.) She is just not able to talk when she is sending messages on her phone.
Do you wanna know more about Veerle? Read her introduction here. You can also find our election programme on our website.

Your asap-soulmate is Matthijs Paul. Matthijs is an enthusiastic lover of gezelligheid, but he can also be a dead serious worker (okay, if he has to). Because gezelligheid know no time, you can regularly find Matthijs before and after three thirty in the Cultuurcafé, without a watch. Matthijs is, according to himself, the perfect example of ‘organised chaos’, energetic on the most random moments, and always ready for the next challenge.
He wants to work to create enough room for the active student-life, with sufficient facilities and a vibrant campus. Especially enough capacity at the Sports Centre is at the top of his list.
If you vote for Matthijs, you vote for someone who:
- can talk endlessly about random historical processes (you do not want to trigger this when you just want to drink your coffee in peace, not good for your bank account)
- will sing along loudly to ABBA, with no shame at all
- passionately loves homemade beef stew with sweet potato fries
Do you wanna know more about Matthijs? Read his introduction here. You can also find our election programme on our website.

Your asap-soulmate is Mischa van Uden: an ambitious guy, that loves to do many things and (as most active students) tends to do a little bit too much. Talking about active students: this year he is a board member at Ovum Novum, so you can mainly find him at the Sociëteit.
He thinks it is very important that more room is created for the self-fulfilment of students. Next to that, he would like to work for the wellbeing of students: mental wellbeing actually very important, and we lose sight of it way too often.
Whoever wants to, can come to Mischa for a talk. He loves gezelligheid around him, so definitely enjoys hanging out with his friends, at a bar. If you vote for Mischa, you vote for someone that is not afraid of a party, but also works hard and chases his goals with full determination. You vote for someone that knows how to enjoy life, and that loves lasagna, beer and gintonics.
Do you wanna know more about Mischa? Read his introduction here. You can also find our election programme on our website.
