The EquipMETRO traineeship is a one-year, part-time traineeship for individuals of any age group. It is geared toward those who would like to increase their understanding of being, thinking and serving like Jesus, but who are unable to complete a traineeship in a full-time capacity.
It does so by encouraging trainees to meet regularly with a trainer who will, alongside them, read ministry papers, selected books and encourage the trainees in service in their nominated ministry areas. The time commitment to the traineeship is flexible and can be tailored to the individual’s availability. It would however, be reasonable to expect 8hrs of reading/preparation/participation to be allocated each week.
This is a grest option if you want to include hands on experience in ministry as well as reading, reflection and discussion.

A METRO traineeship is a two-year, partly funded, full-time, church based traineeship designed to give men and women a taste of local church ministry (in the Presbyterian Church of Victoria) and theological study. METRO traineeships help people determine if God might be equipping and calling them to serve Him in full time gospel ministry in the future.
The trainee is discipled by a trainer experienced in gospel ministry. Depending on the trainee, their training may have a particular focus in the areas of pastoral, university, children’s, youth or women’s ministry.
You receive a wage during your traineeship, but are required to fundraise to cover this cost, similar to a missionary or AFES worker.

A YouthMETRO traineeship is a one-year, part time, church based traineeship, focussed on preparing and growing youth leaders in local churches. YouthMETRO traineeships aim to equip trainees in being, thinking and serving like Jesus, with a specific focus on doing this with and to youth. Trainees complete intensive units in Evangelism and Christian Doctrine at PYV Summer Camp, attend the Engage Bible teaching conference, read Christian books, work through ministry papers, meet one-to-one with their trainer, and serve in ministry in their local church. The minimum age for a YouthMETRO trainee is 16 years old, and it is recommended that a trainee be at least entering into Year 10.

An AFES Ministry Apprenticeship, in partnership with MTS, is (typically) two years of hands-on practical training, centred on the prayerful proclamation of the gospel. It is designed to give the Apprentice an opportunity to ‘live the life’ of a full-time gospel- worker, in close relationship with a godly and experienced ministry trainer.
As trainer and apprentice do life and ministry together, convictions and character are modelled, observed and imitated. And, shaped by those convictions and character, ministry skills are taught and tested, not merely in theory, but in the actual, practical prayerful proclamation of the gospel.
AFES Ministry Apprentices, in partnership wth MTS, are then trained in character, conviction and competence using the MTS approved and FairWork Australia accredited AFES Apprentice Training Syllabus.
