Find Your Family's Reuse Style
Reuse is an undervalued solution to so many of our challenges. It conserves natural resources and the energy required to process them. It creates good jobs that benefit the local economy and your personal finances. Reuse also builds community, connecting us to other humans and empowering us, sparking creativity and reducing isolation and loneliness. There are so many ways to practice reuse and realize all these benefits. Take the Reuse Style Quiz to learn your Reuse Type and explore from there!
You are an adventurer. You enjoy the challenge of reuse. You are motivated to find vintage treasures that are overlooked, deals on just-what-I’m-looking-for, things forgotten in the garage, and anything for free. You appreciate the satisfaction of a successful mission. You could level up by adding some repair and repurpose skills to your toolkit to help rescue even more items. Lean into your Healer/Mender (Repair) side and take the satisfaction of the treasure hunt up to level 11.

You are a fixer. Of things, of hurts, of relationships. Your empathy combines with your problem solving skills to drive you to fix what is broken so it can live on. You love the sense of accomplishment you get from repairing a thing and getting it back into circulation. Some things are beyond repair though, which is why developing your inner Transformer (Repurpose) will help you make good use of all those parts you can’t bear to get rid of.

You are a creative. You see the hidden potential of existing materials all around you and you have the skills to repurpose them into better than new. Into repurposed. Giving new life to things just on the brink of the landfill. You can’t stand seeing things go to waste, which is why the Magician (Refill) is so appealing. By avoiding single use things (borrow, rent, refill!) you can prevent being overwhelmed by all the raw materials for your creations.

You make waste disappear. By not generating it in the first place. You remember your reusables (water bottle, shopping bag, fork) because of the satisfaction you get from avoiding even one item of single use plastic entering the world and ending up in the landfill. No one is perfect though so when you do end up with things harness your Transformer (Repurpose) side to see if you can turn that whatever into a treasure!
