Dubbing is like welfare for bad actors
Dubbing is horrible. They never have the same energy that the onscreen actors have and it either comes out funny or pathetic. I can only imagine what kind of actors are hired to dub.

Live action out of sync is horrible
However amazing the dub is, watching people’s mouths move and hearing something different come out of them is far more distracting than reading unobtrusive subtitles at the bottom of the screen.

Do not exclude illiterates

What about games?
Any gamer will tell you that nothing is more annoying than a great Japanese anime game with subtitles. You can’t react quickly if you’re busy reading what your enemy is shouting at you. If it’s subtitled I rather not play

My childhood would have been complete hell if I had had to read subtitles for the cartoons I watched.
